The Mission to Ord Mantell

A fierce duel rages on between the Jedi initiate Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, a Dark Lord of the Sith, as rebels and stormtroopers fight it out for control over the battlefield. Luke attempts to exchange blows with Vader, Vader blocks them all effortlessly before disarming Luke with a force pull. Vader examines the lightsaber and is shocked at what he sees.

“Where did you get this?”

Princess Leia Organa shoots Darth Vader in the back, while Vader is injured. Luke grabs his lightsaber back and, realising he can’t defeat Vader, runs away. A small rebel carrier ship lands, allowing the rebels to escape.




Darth Vader stands alone in a room on an Imperial Star Destroyer. An imperial officer walks in,

“Lord Vader, the bounty hunter has arrived.”

“Send him in Admiral Ozzel.”

Admiral Ozzel walks out, moments later, a mandalorian in green armour walks in.

“I have heard of your reputation Boba Fett. If half the things I’ve heard about you are true, you will make quick work of this task. My troops say the rebels were sighted 0400 hours away from an Imperial shipyard on the planet Ord Mantell. I need you to go there, gather information on this boy...”

Darth Vader projects an image of Luke out of his helmet’s visor.

“...and report back to me, But I only want information, do not harm the rebels, only engage them if you must.”

“As you wish Lord Vader.”

Boba Fett begins to walk out of Vader’s chambers.

“And Boba…”

Boba Fett stops in his tracks and looks at Vader.

“I knew your father, I fought in the Battle of Geonosis. You can rest assured knowing the man who killed him is dead.”

Boba Fett walks out. As the door to Vader’s chamber closes, Fett turns back to face Vader

“I know.”




Luke, Han, Leia and a small squad of rebel troopers load Imperial shipments onto the Millennium Falcon from a quarry on the planet Ord Mantell. Luke grabs a crate.

“I’m surprised nobody was guarding these shipments.”

General Han Solo pushes a crate towards the Falcon.

“Smells like a trap.”

Meanwhile, Boba Fett’s ship, the Slave 1 lands on a nearby mountain and Boba Fett hops out. The bounty hunter pulls down his rangefinder and scans the nearby area, he finds the rebels down a quarry along with a large batch of crates and a ship.

“Lord Vader, target acquired, they’re down in a quarry. With a YT-1300 Corellian freighter and some crates.”

“That information is of no concern to me, bounty hunter. I want to find out about the boy.”

“As you wish my lord.”

Boba Fett flies up to the ledge of the quarry. Han Solo, who is lugging a crate to the Millenium Falcon, immediately stops everything he is doing upon hearing the noise of Boba Fett’s jetpack.

“Everyone be quiet!”

Everyone stops what they’re doing. Princess Leia walks up to Han.

“Han, what’s going on.”

Han shushes her and looks up.

“Bounty hunter! Up there.”

Han fires at Boba Fett. The rebels all open fire and Luke ignites his lightsaber to deflect Boba’s blasts. Leia and the rebel squadron run onto the Millenium Falcon, followed by Han.

“Commander Skywalker, we have to retreat!”

Luke runs back to the Falcon and joins Han, Leia and Chewbacca in the cockpit.

“This is General Han Solo, all units strap in for takeoff.”

The Millenium Falcon slowly rises from the quarry and jumps into hyperspace as Boba Fett watches.




Boba Fett returns to Darth Vader.

“What have you found Boba Fett?”

“Not much, just his name, ‘Skywalker’.”

On the outside, Vader remains emotionless, but on the inside, he fumes with rage, Darth Sidious, his Sith master, had told him that he killed his pregnant wife in his anger, but if that were true, then how could she have given birth to another Skywalker? Things didn’t add up in Vader’s eyes.

“Leave, bounty hunter, I have other matters to attend to.”

Boba Fett walks out as Vader looks out to the stars.




Less than 24 hours later, a TIE Advanced lands on the docking pad of Palpatine’s Imperial Palace on Coruscant. Darth Vader enters the Emperor’s Throne Room with his lightsaber in hand. Palpatine sits on his throne facing a large window overlooking the city of Coruscant “Why have you come to me Lord Vader.” Vader rests his finger on the switch of his lightsaber.

“You told me I killed Padme in my anger.”

Palpatine spins his throne around to face Vader and stands up.

“Yes, yes I did. Are we done here?”

Vader ignites his lightsaber

“I don’t believe we are Emperor. Only days ago I encountered a boy named Luke SKYWALKER who was in possession of MY old lightsaber. Luke Skywalker is the same boy who infiltrated the Death Star alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi and the protocol droid I built as a child! Do you believe that is a coincidence.”

Palpatine walks toward Vader.

“Have you come to kill me, apprentice?”

Vader holds his lightsaber up in a defensive stance.

“I would most certainly like to.”

Palpatine electrocutes Vader and levitates him up to the air, he smashes his apprentice against the floor and begins to choke him.

“How does it feel Lord Vader? To be so weak? To feel such pain? To know such fear?”

Suddenly, Emperor Palpatine stops the force choke and Vader gasps for breath.

“Remember your place, apprentice.”

Palpatine uses the force to push Vader out of the chamber and walks back to his throne as the doors close.
